When the door opened, she couldn't help but smile at her friend. And when he mentioned having had a trainee Friday, her mind immediately when to Evander and the horrible interaction the two had the day they were assigned to one another. But she wasn't going to think about him right now. She was hanging out with Damon right now, and it wouldn't be fair to him if her attention were elsewhere.
She walked into his home, her eyes wandering to see if anything had changed since she was last there, removing her coat as she went. He told her that everything was ready, and she turned towards him and smiled again. "Excellent. I've been looking forward to tonight since we set it up," she told him. "We doing this in the kitchen?" she asked.
"We're in the kitchen but I do have an idea for later on if you want to run with it.
How about a trip to a muggle cinema once we get pizza and beer? There's a few options and a choice of films" Damon posed. The idea had occured to him not long before she got there . They didn't have to follow it up either but it might finish off a relaxing night. Two busy people needed something like this.
He also could blend in very well in not just his village but a large town like Exeter and a city like London. He'd still keep the statute of secrecy as the vast majority of muggles had no reason to know about the wizarding world.
Closing the door once she entered he led the way to the kitchen where the steaming food was shown and the beers available for selection. Perhaps the whole evening or a starting point?

Delaney was mid-nod at Damon's confirmation that they would be hanging out in the kitchen but stopped when he told her he had an additional idea for later on if she wanted to hear it. She arched an eyebrow at him curiously. "Well, of course I want to hear it then. You can’t just say it like that and not make me curious," she said with a scrunched nose.
He then posed his idea, and her eyebrows rose slightly. He wants to go to the movies after dinner and drinks... with her? Why did that sound so oddly like a date? Not that she thought it was. Of course not. We had never, I never- no, that wasn't what he meant at all.
Sure that was true, she offered a more forced than natural smile and a nod. "We could check out what's playing and when and go from there. There might not be anything good currently showing," she said as they walked into the kitchen, her voice a bit shakier than she would like. "So what toppings did you go with?" she asked.
Damon seen Delaney like a brother would see a sister so his idea was truely what it appeared to be. Another way to kick back after a busy week in work and another method of blowing off steam after the usual bullshit, trainees being dropped in their laps and plenty of other things they were trying to get away from. He smiled a little when she expressed an interest in the possibility at least. Totally depending if they could find something they both liked and was at least a decent film. He'd the muggle paper which he'd bought just to keep informed about what his non-magical folk neighbours might be concerned about and were getting up to as a collective entity. The film listings were an unexpected bonus.
"We can do that later on. In the meantime we can eat, drink and blow of steam to our hearts content. It's cheese and tomato with green peppers and the same with peppers and mushrooms" he cheerfully replied to her. Food and beer were beckoning if nothing else was going to happen tonight. It did help Delaney was here and she was always good company.

When he had first asked about going to a movie after work, Delaney's mind short-circuited. She knew he hadn't been asking her out on a date, but it sure as hell sounded like it. If she had been anyone else, and he had been anyone else, she might have thought that was what he was trying to say. But she knew better. It just came out strangely at first. She wouldn't dwell on such a thought.
She arched an eyebrow at him when he told her the toppings he'd picked. "You have no meat toppings?" she asked with an arched eyebrow. Not that she ever minded only veggies on her pizza, but they were both werewolves, so the idea of no meat present in their meal just seemed ironic and amusing to her. "They sound heavenly, though, so I am not complaining," she told him with a wink of her eye. She'd never be ungrateful to him for going out of his way for her like this.
David chuckled hearing Delaney mention there was no meat toppings. He hadn't even considered that but you did need to get your five a day and if that happened to be on a pizza so be it. "I hadn't planned it that way" he replied seeing her arched eyebrow and the wink. Future plans would stay that way until they happened. "However it is good to get vegetables in your diet" he chuckled.
It did feel ironic as he brought the beers over along with the glasses and a tray and popped the caps with his wand. These spun upwards and landed of the table for tidying up later on. "These are the batch I told you about. A 5% proof table beer ideal for pizza, chilling out and summer picnics. please enjoy" he added.

It was always so comfortable being with Damon. Things hadn’t been so comfortable when they first met, but she grew to be more confident and self-assured around him, which let her real personality shine through more. Not many people got the privilege of seeing the real Delaney Zabini; unfortunately, her school attitude and family name cast a large shadow over her, keeping her shielded from most. But she was starting to change that, albeit very slowly.
She made a face when he told her that getting her vegetables into her diet was good. It wasn't that she disliked vegetables, but she rarely had any meal with no meat available. Even her salads had some protein in them. Still, she'd eat whatever he fed her; she wasn't that picky. "I guess I'll have to make due," she said, though she wasn't trying to be mean about it. "You're feeding me after all, so I won't look a gift horse in the mouth," she added before reaching for a slice.
She paused as he came over with the beer he'd promised. He told her that he was offering table beer, ideal for the meal they were about to eat. He popped the tops off the bottles and then told her to enjoy. She finished grabbing a slice of pizza and then reached for one of the bottles he offered. She brought it to her lips and took a long sip, letting the beer flavor fill her mouth. She swallowed and then took a bite of her pizza, letting their tastes mingle as she decided if they went well together. "Not too bad," she told him with a smile once she swallowed everything. "It goes with the pizza nicely," she added.
This was a weird hobby even for a wizard. Not even many muggles did this anymore but it did reduce his reliance on muggles if he could do something for himself. That little bit of self reliance would also help if things went bad for werewolves as if you could do something like this once you could do it again. The other bit of self reliance was the way he could return here after a a full moon run and have everything they needed on hand.
Delaney said she wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth and she did seem to like the beer and the meat free pizza. So while they dined and drank their bottles of beer he posed "we've had trainees and awkward staff members to deal with. Our luck has to change sometime?"
Perhaps that was their lot given they were team leaders in their fields but they still could get out and about. They'd even talked about seeing a film tonight once plans lined up.
"Do you find you get much of a chance to get out and about?" he added.
