Monday was normally when shipments came in and especially in the morning, but Tonia could shuffle some things around; it wasn’t like she was expecting a big shipment anyway. “Monday morning is fine,” she said, making a mental note of their plans, “Maybe we can meet up a little earlier to grab a piece for breakfast? I overheard some customers talking about a new café in Diagon that is supposed to have great sandwiches.”
An emotional moment followed their plan making, and it was a relief when they moved on to a more light-hearted topic. “Deadpool sounds good,” Tonia said, sipping her wine quietly as Sera got up to put the movie on. There was a sound of cloth being rustled. Tonia turned towards it to see Sera unveil an old TV.
She made a whistling sound. “Nice setup,” she said, impressed despite how dated the setup looked. Muggle technology was known to not work well near the Hogwarts castle. Tonia herself did not own a TV; She used to date a muggleborn man so she knew about muggle technology, but she didn’t know enough to get something like this in her own flat. When she wanted to see a movie she usually went to a muggle cinema.
Tonia got out of her seat and came to stand next to Sera to get a closer look at the system. “Is it complicated to set up?”
The only reason this setup worked because the tv and dvd player were so old. 18 years old in fact and a smart tv would frazzle in a magical house. "For this to work it really needs to be a dumb tv and a really old one. Magic can substitute for electricity. So she consulted some school friends and they set this up for her. The physical connections are simple enough but the magic is complicated. It will play standard DVD's so its future proof" she mused back.
"Deadpool is also worth it for seeing the hunky Ryan Reynolds in action as well as fourth wall breaks" she added and tapped her wand on the top of the tv. Four taps clockwise, 6 anti clockwise and a triangle being tapped out in the middle.
The TV came to life and she started the dvd player off. Everything was button controlled and she started the film. Now Sera drank more of her wine before she got a top up.
"Breakfast sounds good on Monday morning. I'll probally use that place for lunches later on as I still practise in the studio. It's not the same players everytime so we need to practise quite a lot". The same thing happened in orchestras so work wasn't just confined to performances.

Getting a TV for her flat sounded more compelling the more she looked at Sera’s set-up. “Do you think I can get something like this set up at my place?” Tonia asked, head slightly tilted to the side. Sera’s explanation made it sound like a hassle to set up, but thinking about the unbearably quiet evenings she’d had of late she felt it would be worth it.
“I kind of want one,” she admitted. “I have no idea how to do something like this though. Is there any chance I can convince you to help me?” Tonia said, grinning at Sera. “I can make some carbonara, maybe some apple crumble. We can make a girl’s night out of it.”
She observed as Sera put the Deadpool movie on, laughing at her comments about Ryan Reynolds. “Reynolds is great. I love his sense of humor.” She hadn’t seen many movies but she had seen all the Deadpool ones and enjoyed them quite a bit.
Tonia was happy with how the night had turned out. They’d had good food, good wine, shared some laughs, and had already made plans to meet up again the coming Monday. “I hope that café is as good as people say. If not there’s always trusty old Leaky Cauldron.”
Tonia asked the question she'd been kind of expecting while they watched the antics of Wade Wilson while getting drunk on wine. "You don't have to bribe me with food you know but I will help. I still know this guy from Hufflepuff who was able to grasp the precise magics involved in making muggle things work in our world. Also an ex but he'll do it for me" Seraphim cheerfully replied. They'd also had sex since then on a few occasions but she knew he'd be up for if she offered it. As well as doing it for a lower price.
"Then once he tells me how to finish it off we can have a girls night at your place" she confirmed. "The trick is to actually find a TV that old but it'll never pick up a TV station again. Even magic can't make that happen but you will have a home cinema".
Then the cafe got raised and Seraphim didn't really have any expections to dent when it came to a new place to eat. "All true Tonia There's always a backup venue" she further added before laughing at the scene where the severed hand gave Collosus the bird. They'd already got the Monday arranged but where in Merlin's big wide world would you find a totally dumb TV that even muggles would consider old? At least the DVD player would be the easy part and any would work as long as they had a scart socket.

Tonia knew Sera would have helped even without the promise of food, but it was a way of thanking her. “Sure, but consider the food an added bonus,” she said, grinning as she sipped her wine. “You don’t want to miss out on apple crumble.” Besides, Tonia enjoyed Sera’s company and would want to hang out with her again soon.
At Sera’s mention of an ex from Hufflepuff Tonia paused, wondering if she might know who he was. Sera was a few years younger than her and if her ex was around the same age as Sera then he was probably too young for Tonia to remember him from school. Would he still be willing to help it if he knew who the TV was for? Tonia didn’t want to know the answer. Instead she nodded and said, “That would be very kind of him. Let me know when you’ve had a chance to speak to him.” In the meantime they would need to figure out how to get their hands on an old TV.
Tonia hummed, sipping her wine while she considered it, occasionally laughing at the funny scenes in the movie. “A muggle thrift store maybe?” she suggested after a while. Surely one of the many thrift stores in the country had an old television? “Maybe we can stop by a few thrift stores on Monday and see what options they have.” There was also the internet; from Tonia’s understanding of the world wide web, you could find almost anything on it.
"You know me by now. I wouldn't miss out on apple crumble" she mused. She did have the cows milk allergy to deal with but the small amount you'd use in baking and cooking didn't cause a problem for her. When she cooked and baked she used goats milk and most people couldn't tell the difference.
Her ex (one of several) was called Rufus and he worked in Magical Transport; but the muggle thing was a major hobby of his. So finding him would be easy.
"I'll let you know; in fact the next time I'm in London I'm send him a flying note" she added.
Then Tonia had an idea that just might work. Sera raised an eyebrow and further added "we could and there's plenty of those in London. I'll know what will work and also look out a DVD player while we're at it. We'll probally be able to build up your collection of films at the same time". You tended to find electrical items and second hand DVD's at the same location. If not she knew places they could buy new or slightly used ones.

Monday was going to be very busy but Antonia didn’t mind; keeping busy kept her mind off other things. “Perfect,” she said, grinning excitedly. It had been ages since she had a proper shopping day. Before Azkaban in fact. Her focus since her release had been on trying to get her business profitable again, not so much on recreational activities. She really needed to start making up for lost time.
Tonia plopped down on the couch and tucked her feet under herself, making herself comfortable under the throw blanket, wine glass in hand. “That sounds great,” she said, excitement growing as Sera explained what else they could look for at the thrift store. “Definitely all the Deadpool movies, I need them in my collection. And Jurassic Park. Hm, what else…” she paused to think of what other movies she had seen and enjoyed. “Oh, Princess Bride!” Tonia let out a chuckle, “Inconceivable!” she said, doing her best Vizzini impression. “Have you seen that one? If not then I vote we watch it on our next movie night. It’s cheesy and hilarious.”
So with Monday being sorted out and a slightly longer list of things to get Seraphim seen Tonia get comfortable on the sofa. There was still more wine to drink and Tonia still had plenty in her glass; as did Sera as she joined her in getting comfortable.
"I know about thrift shops. You'll never know what you'll find and I find it hard to pass one without looking in. So you want both Deadpool films and probally the entire Jurrasic Park series. I haven't seen The Princess Bride so mark that down for next time" she cheerfully replied.
"I'll need to get some more too. I'm thinking about the X Men films or Fantastic Four set and I'm more likely to get those new" she added looking back at Tonia. Yup she was feeling a bit tipsy now but as they wouldn't be going anywhere it didn't matter. They could get as drunk as they wanted to be and feel safe.

Thrift shops sounded a lot like the Room of Requirement that she had read about in Hogwarts: A History back in school, full of keepsakes and and knickknacks. “Sounds fun,” she said, scooting over a bit to leave more room for Sera under the blanket and joked, “Hopefully we don’t come across any cursed objects.”
She took another sip of wine and continued, a laugh painting her voice, “Imagine being cursed with seven years of bad luck for touching a Suicide Squad DVD. You know the one from 2016? Watching that movie once is punishment enough. Two hours of my life I will never get back.” She shook her head in disappointment. “Terrible film.”
Sera listed off her favorites, Tonia nodding in response. “We should make movie night a recurring thing and watch them all,” she suggested, “Like every other weekend.” Tonia certainly didn’t have better things to do on weekends. All she did was work.
Seraphim took advantage of a little more space as she considered what Tonia said. She sipped her wine once settled and cheerfully replied.
"I would think it's unlikely to find a cursed object in a muggle thrift shop. Perhaps you're thinking of that Suicide Squad dvd rather than anything created in our world" she mused. She had this thing for superheroes and action. It just didn't stop with Deadpool. She also appreciated really hot heroines.
"Anyway we're witches. We'd know if that was the case. And we should do this on alternate weekends. Films, food and wine as long as we're both free. It could even be a Friday evening" she added. Most weekends she could make free at some point even with her work shifts and the events she played at. It might mean a late night but they could deal with that.

“Oh, I know,” Tonia said, amused, "The risk of that happening in the muggle world is minimal." She had said it in jest. Muggle London was quite safe where cursed objects were concerned. Knockturn Alley, however...
"But yeah that Suicide Squad movie is a curse in itself. I'd almost take the seven years of bad luck over having to sit through it again." She liked some of the actors in it but that had not been enough to save it.
They were witches, but that was the thing with cursed objects; sometimes they were unassuming and found in unexpected places, catching wizards and witches off-guard. "Hm, I suppose," Tonia responded in lieu of arguing, and shrugged her shoulders. She was getting too tipsy for such discussions anyway.
Sera seemed to like the idea of making movie night a thing. Tonia smiled.
"I'm looking forward to it! I'll host next time if we manage to get the TV set up by then."
They could watch the Princess Bride at her place. Tonia wouldn't say she had seen many films in her life but of the ones she had seen Princess Bride was one of the most quotable. She wanted to share it with Sera.
Seraphim grinned as they enjoyed the film, the wine and great company. She couldn't show most of what she was to the muggle side of her family; her mothers side knew the secret but not her fathers so she ended up being so careful round them when they met up in London.
"As we're having film nights how about some of them for real in London? We can do dinner before it if you want" she posed as this idea had just formed in her head. They were going to London anyway for one trip; why not more?
She did know about Knockturn Alley only too well. She'd been there to try and keep housemates out of trouble rather for her own reasons.

Her future weekends were quickly filling up with the plans they were making, but Antonia didn't mind it one bit. Especially since some of those plans would be in muggle London where she was less likely to be recognized.
"I'd be down for that! There's nothing wrong with your television setup but movies are best viewed with surround sound on a massive screen," she responded, grinning. And she'd never say no to dinner.
Tonia sunk down deeper into the couch and sighed contentedly. If she wasn't careful she might end up falling asleep during the movie. The wine certainly wasn't helping, tending to give her a temporary energy boost that gradually tipped over into sleepiness.
As it stood Antonia might be staying the night but the next day would bring another set of plans into play. Firstly they'd to get through that TV hunt and some weekend they'd be going to a proper cinema with a massive screen to watch it on. Quite when she wasn't sure but enjoying the antics of Deadpool with a good friend sharing the sofa and wine on had sounded good to her.
"I will Tonia but you might need to stay after the film . Unless you really want to have to walk home" she posed. Even Sera wouldn't try and apparate which being that drunk. So wasn't this just looking out for a friend?
She laughed too as the comedy was working on her too. By now the film was moving into the third act and the end would come. She also idly wondered just how you shoehorned a fully grown man into a taxi boot. "He had it coming" she declared. once it was explained why he was there.

"I probably won't need to. It's not a long walk," Tonia assured her with a grin and settled in.
And as Sera had predicted, Antonia did end up sleeping over. But at least she made it to the end of the movie before succumbing to sleep, providing commentary here and there and agreeing when Deadpool criticized Angel Dust's superhero landing.
She'd had a great night and had made sure to let Sera know, verbally and through the uncoordinated side-hug she pulled her into. "Seriously Sera, thank you. I really needed this."
Losing her freedom had been incredibly hard, but losing friends more so. It warmed her heart that Sera had chosen to stick by her after everything. Tonia did not take it for granted.
