THE CHARACTER
Phillip became a chaser for the Haileybury Hammers in his home country of Canada straight out of graduating Ilvermorny where he was in Wampus house. He played for the Hammers for nearly twenty years showing no signs of slowing despite the fact that he was definitely considered to be 'getting on in age' compared to all of the youngsters that were joining the sport. Still he got by as a popular favorite due to his handsome good looks (he'll be the first to tell you) as well as his 'class clown' mentality that entertained the crowd at matches and at events.
He eventually found himself in a long-term relationship and married to a fellow Quidditch player. He thought she was the one but things took a turn for the worse - they got competitive, started partying around beautiful people, and hit the bottle pretty hard. This resulted in a divorce and Phillip found himself even deeper at the bottom of whatever alcoholic beverage he could find. His drinking habits caused him to get sloppy and he was then removed from professional play after a few less than stellar incidents (and that's putting it mildly).
After a good portion of time being benched he was eventually offered a coaching gig and has been informed if he messes up ONCE he's out of there with no chance of getting back on the pitch. Here's the thing though - messing up is super easy to do when you're an alcoholic who owns a bar. The man is essentially a ticking time bomb, that is, unless someone can save him... but is he past that point?
