THE CHARACTER
People have called Dylan a "bitch!" before, they probably weren't wrong. Really, you try your best but there's only ever so much that you can actually do with the materials you're given to work with. Dyl was born in the 'states but her mother had never been particularly fond of the place so when "daddy dearest" (stepdaddy #1) called from across the pond of course she went running, lil Dyl on her hip and older bro in hand. All in all in the string of stepfathers from one to six Dyl was landed with three more siblings, some of which she thinks of fondly. Some are brats.
When she came of age Dylan received an invitation to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and finally escaped the madness of that house. Sorted into Slytherin, just as anticipated. She excelled well enough in school, even if her grades didn't reflect that. Not one for tests, but practical applications? She could do that in spades. Stink Bombs, itching spells, the works. When it came time for them to fly? She was a natural talent; but, then, she spent more time hanging off of her broom than actually on it. Not such a Quidditch prospect.
By graduation? Dylan had established herself as something of an outcast, most likely to run off to join the circus. And she did (kind of).
Performing never has been her favorite (too many eyes), but she loved acrobatics, and there were only so many ways to put those two together that wasn't running from the aurors, and that would just be tiring. So she swings under the high-top and performs for muggles and magicals alike. If they never notice their valuables disappearing? Their own problem, report it to guest services and cry her a river, build her a bridge, and get over it.
