THE ADULTS - BADASSES
Rough around the edges Professor Denton is well known to be a bit intimidating at first, a fact that he's come to accept even if he still resents it. He's very passionate about teaching and his students, willing to stay late to help out and always looking to make the class fun (ask him about his end of the year juice bar!). He also bartends a few nights a week down at Down the Hatch Bar, where he puts most of his intimidating aura to work keeping drunk patrons in line. He doesn't have broad group of friends given his tough exterior; mostly former coworkers, current coworkers, and the odd exception. He's decently chill with most people as long as you're not making a nuisance of yourself. That said, if Mads has ever had to toss you out of his pub for anything more than having a few too many and needing a hand out the door you're probably on his shit list.
romance? well, it's never quite been central in Mads's life. He's had some short lived relationships, and mostly hookups - very easy to do when he was young and all he had to care about was working at the pub. Once he adopted his daughter IMANI DENTION any romantic connections that he had tapered off as she became his central focus and he wasn't willing to bring random men into his young daughter's life like a revolving door. Now that she's grown though that has been changing.
Wild man Charlie Weasley is a completely different beast, much like his dragons. His wild ginger hair and the tattoos scaling his arms give him away as a bit of a wild child, more likely to be found on the back of a dragon than in a suit and tie. His mum might say he's allergic to society, and that isn't far from the truth. While he might make friends with just about anyone, congenial as always, he's not always the first to spring to meet up at a little café for coffee. Anyone able to put but with his mildly reclusive nature and tomfoolery could find themself well on their way to a long lasting friendship. Ask him to show you his dragons and he might just marry you. On the other hand, if you pose a threat to his dragons or his family he'll come for your head.
Romantically Charlie hasn't had too many long lasting relationships, something that doesn't much bother him. He's just a bit hard to be with; barely found in his actual home, keeping odd hours, toting random dragons into his home when he is home. When most all of your small talk is dragons, there's only so much of a foundation to build a relationship on. Some might call him married to his job, and perhaps he is, but he's not willing to compromise on his passions and happiness just to tick off another box on the list of what 'a perfect life' is meant to be.
He's currently crushing on his best friend RIVER ADELINDE but I'm open to potential past relationships. Definitely friendships though (he can't just talk to his dragons).
With a socialite mother and a pureblood father whose family wanted absolutely nothing to do with her it's safe to say that Didiane had an interesting upbringing caught between the two. Her upbringing can be a bit of a sore spot for her, in fact. Didi's been known to be quite rebellious and get into a bit of trouble from time to time (as much as she can get away with before bringing the wrath of her family down on her). All of that's made easier playing for a professional Quidditch team of course. Almost expected, even, at her age. Yet, for all that she likes to push the limits she remains fairly straight laced given her passion for Quidditch. Can't get up at six for practice when you were hung over every day of the week.
When it comes to any relationship be it friendship or romance Didi can be slow to warm up completely. She has a planned final romantically, but I see her definitely having past flings. Friends though! I'd love to see her have people she's close to and completely unguarded with.
Probably the least sophisticated person you know (despite the name). Garf is pretty much a big goof with a moderately serious day job. He'd meant to go the whole starving artist route but then his daughter happened and things got serious. He still takes every opportunity to play at whatever pub will have him on his nights off. Not the most responsible person on earth but he tries for his daughter but now that she's off to Hogwarts he's figuring out what to do with himself. And feeling terribly old. Basically, he's a bit of a hot mess right now. But, he'd certainly like some friends to help him keep on moving forwardand maybe encourage him not to turn his flat into a pigsty on accident.Friends: just about anyone, he's a pretty happy guy and isn't opposed to getting to know anyone.
Enemies: people his daughter dislikes, bloodpurists
Romantic: open, has to be someone who gets along with his daughter though - and be supportive of his music.
app, Natalia is a dedicated member of the US National Team, always pushing herself to do better and known for her work ethic and as a good role model - she behaves herself, in public at least. Until her divorce. These past years have been rough, in and out of bars but still trying not to act out, to some extent. Right now she actively mourns the family she lost, though the wound is healing in some ways. She's always been more of an introvert but when things are hard, well, you close the shutters so to say. Nat can be snippy and short to some but tends towards general civility with the broader public.
Friends: as a public figure if she didn't know you growing up she's a bit slower to warm up, but she could use a good friend either in the past years or now.
Enemies: probably more prone to rivals from other teams than straight out enemies, except whoever's behind the Quidditch attacks.
Romantic: Natalia's still healing from her divorce and that's a long road for her, one she's still on (and still in love with her ex). whether they get back together time will tell but for the time being hook ups for the intervening years, or short relationships, are possible
app, just another of the large Rizzo clan, she has quite a few attachment issues due to her mother's revolving door of husbands. Dylan's always been a bit of trouble, be it her application of magic or the fact that she's most likely to have been voted bitchiest in an unofficial yearbook poll. Now she's a performer by trade and a pick pocket by choice. All the more reason to keep away point blank or just stay on her good side.
Friends: few and far between, though the ones she does have are as thick with her as shall we say thieves?
Enemies: people she's stolen the wallets of, people she's turned down, people she's insulted, the list goes on.
Romantic: wanted, but I'm open to other proposals (ie, villain x villain)
app, Nicky here is a lot of things; independent, self-reliant, sarcastic. She attended Ilvermony growing up and while she wasn't particularly passionate about any career path she eventually settled on becoming a lawyer. She fell in love with a Quidditch player and everything was perfect until it wasn't. They divorced, after a lot of turmoil. Now Nicky is trying to put herself back together but in the meantime just going through the day to day helping underprivileged muggleborns.
Friends: Nicky is busy, really busy, so friends have to be willing to navigate her schedule with her, as well as be people there for her while she puts herself back together.
Enemies: people she's helped put away / get ruled against
Romantic: she's still healing but I imagine Nicky is still trying to put herself back out there and just move on.
app, Lynden has always met and exceeded expectations, first of all becoming a Healer and then later by rapidly rising through the ranks and becoming Head Healer. It's a lonely throne. He's harsh and usually absorbed in his work even during his time off. He has always had the best interest for his patients at heart though he isn't particularly great at getting that across most of the time.
Friends: few and far between as there aren't many people who can put up with him. still, even he's not completely alone in the world. mostly other healers, though.
Enemies: unsatisfied patients, anyone who's gotten on the bad end of his sharp tongue and taken offense.
Romantic: SAOIRSE BYRNE , eventually. very little time for past relationships but he definitely had some awhile ago before he gave up on romance so I'm open to them.
app, a soft spoken man, he's not used to pushing his will or inclined towards raising his voice unless he absolutely has to (for the sake of his books!). Darby has a variety of cats and is mildly involved with his local rescues when he isn't too busy. He's studious to the core and has been known to lose track of time whilst reading and put in overtime absolutely on accident, and be reprimanded politely for it. Now he gets to preserve knowledge for future generations, and is absolutely thrilled to do so.
Friends: anyone? as long as they're not hostile to him (probably) man just wants to read in peace.
Enemies: people who want his books? bugs? high moisture levels?
Romantic: KEIKO WATANABE eventually, he's pansexual but he's generally been disinterested in romance for most of his life in favor of books, papers, and knowledge.
app, as a kid Osmond learned the hard way that not every disease can be cured with a smacking kiss and a get well soon. Considering his early attempts at broom riding he found himself poorly suited to Quidditch, but he did excel at potions. Osmond is the voice of reason among those who know him and tends towards keeping calm and level headed for the most part. Now he works with Team USA and does his best to lend his voice of reason to them, and boy do some of them need it.
Friends: mostly old school chums, he does have some wariness over being used to get to the team.
Enemies: past patients, school enemies, whoever keeps targeting Team USA
Romantic: wanted, but I'm open to other options as well!best known for being the Bassist for the band Spellbound, Briony tends to be just a little bit all over the place - be it physically or mentally. She's a pretty decent part of the reason that the band is known for being a bit of a mess. She's a mess. Briony is a metamorphmagus which is super epic cool, right? and she's known to use the ability for stage stunts, and being silly with fans. She's a bit of a goof, even when she's being serious.
Friends: mostly her bandmates and maybe a few old schoolmates.
Enemies: people who hate the band, haters
Romantic: she's had a rather long string of romances and she really does try but things tend to fall off what with fame and all. she tends to fall hard and fast, and crushes easily.
KAM NASSRY . 30 . heterosexual . muggleborn . underground fighter | bakerapp. kind of a badass here, Kam is pretty self-destructive when it comes to her day to day. pushing people away, getting into fights in the 'ring' or out of it. She's independent and isn't going to ask for anybody's help unless she's desperate because asking for help requires some for of trust and no way is she turning her back if it isn't absolutely necessary. A lot about her makes people what to turn the other way so it'll take a strong personality to ignore that. Buff, bruised, and battered. Kam isn't the most intimidating person ever but she certainly isn't far off. A part of her, though, is rather lonely even if she might refuse to acknowledge it.
Friends: few and far between, there are people that she could have called friends since her time at the orphanage or at Hogwarts but most of them had traded out over the years leaving her friend circle rather sparse and disappointing. She'll have many more acquaintances than friends.
Enemies: people she's beat in a duel or fight, students who just didn't like her growing up, people she's bad-mouthed or came out ahead of before.
Romantic: potential wanted upcoming. but generally someone more optimistic than her who's going to pull her out of well, all of this. or at least help her to build healthier habits while she refuses to give her fighting up.
app, Finneas is a descendent, as his name suggests, of the Darwin family which means his future was meant to hold everything that that intaled; including taking over the family Wizengamot seat. But, you see, Darwins aren't well known for sticking to the beaten path so while the are still expectations for him they don't exactly rise to the same threshold as they might in any other pureblood family. Instead, Finn spends his days taken with muggle technology and spending his time drawn to magical creatures - more so those that end up wandering into the muggle world (all the more reason to sight see!). Finn is mild mannered and approachable, always looking to lend a helping hand if it's needed.
Friends: anyone? especially if you have animals!
Enemies: anyone cruel to animals or people will probably fit the bill, and to a lesser degree him.
Romantic: currently drawn to and getting to know BEATRIX KIDDO , but I am open to past interests and people his parents might try to get him to meet.NOAH SPENGLER . 40 . heterosexual . muggle . smugglerNoah is the muggle elder brother of MAGGIE SPENGLER . He's rather underhanded, used to getting his way even if he has to use less than desirable means. He's suave but sharp with his words when he needs to be. Always knows the best way to get shit done, and doesn't beat around the bush unless he's playing proper. Not exactly an easy kind of guy to be around at first but if you crack him open you'll find that he's loyal to the core, no ifs ands or buts. He treasures those to the utmost that he considers close and will do nigh on anything for them.Friends: hard to make, but he could probably use some. or acquaintances.Enemies: has quite a few I'd imagine, people he's gotten on the wrong side of or people who just dislike him.Romantic: nothing atm, maybe past hook ups and such but he's even careful with those. can't have any trade secrets getting out, can he?
LEE BROWN . 24 . pansexual . halfblood . bartender, the three broomsticks . werewolfapp, once upon a time Lee was just a relatively normal somebody who was just considered "something" by friends and family. A bit odd, but nothing to write home about. That was, until he went camping with his friends (half of whom are now dead) with only Harmony Cromwell and himself surviving. So now he's got the trauma too. Outside of that? He's a pretty cheerful guy, or tries to be. Sometimes he's too sunny - sunny as a supernova and his regulars tend to notice, though they don't usually know how to calm him down. He's a lot more scattered these days so some patience required, but that's what friends are for right?
Friends: just about anyone who'll put up with himand he isn't afraid will die around him
Enemies: people who hate werewolves?
Romantic: I'm open! maybe someone who doesn't like werewolves but they miscommunicate his furry little problem until they don't and it causes a bit of a blow up.
KENNA DE VALOIS . 31 . bisexual . pureblood . potions mistress . bit of an empathapp, Kenna is a calm and kind young woman from a well respected pureblood family. The only powers she has to speak of, outside of her magic, are her superb potions and perhaps a bit of extra empathy (unless you believe her family). She doesn't mind most people, though she can be the slightest bit snobby she tries not to show it, unless they mess with her family or any other people that she cares for. Watch where you tread, because Kenna tends to have friends in the oddest of places.
Friends: nigh on anyone, just ask me!
Enemies: people who fuck with her family and people she cares about.
Romantic: happily married to RAPHËAL DE VALOIS
KASPAR FISCHER . 29 . gay . halfblood . hit wizardapp, Kaspar is something of a spare heir to his father's wealthy family; that being the muggle side of his parentage. He's never been fond of that label or the weight that came with it. He was born too late to be anywhere near close in age with his elder siblings and as a result there's never been much love there, or with his parents. He had a rough go of it at Durmstrang, too. Didn't make many friends given the pureblood prejudice there and his inability to fit in. He's had a habit of sticking out his entire life; cocky, wild child, trickster, unable to sit still. He's just now figuring out where he fits in.
Friends: anyone who can put up with his rather brash personality and cockiness can have a go
Enemies: probably a fair few people he just doesn't get along with
Romantic: Adrien Clarke is looking rather dashing, isn't he?
AGGIE KETTLEBURN . 18 . bisexual . squib (pureblood) . potion brewerapp, Agatha is simultaneously something of an odd and yet not wholly unexpected case. She is a Squib born into your average Pureblood family, a shock to her family when she didn't present with magic by her seventh birthday and yet they didn't cast her out. Instead, her mother had her trained in as many magical subjects as she could still use and muggle subjects in case her daughter chose that path. Unorthodox but not horrible; except for the fact that her lack of magic was a bit of a dirty secret. Aggie was given a wand and told, for the most part, never to tell or let anyone know of her lack of magic. Which of course makes for a very confusing growing up. Now? She's curious about everything she's missed.
Friends: she's very friendly, so anyone who's not prejudiced I suppose!
Enemies: people who go against her friends, are mean to her.
Romantic: open!
VITALIA BONES . 50 . pansexual . pureblood . Wizengamot, Head of Department . seerapp, Vitalia is a no nonsense woman who has not the time or the energy for any tomfoolery or stumbling around that is not her own. She is well put together and stands tall, knows her duties to her house and fulfills them to the best of her abilities day in and day out. She has two grown children and an ex husband. While on ocassion Vitalia may try, she's never been a particularly warm or accommodating person so in most cases those situations come off as awkward - but she always gets shit done.
Friends: hard for her to make but not impossible, lets see if they click!
Enemies: Definitely a fair amount
Romantic: Ex husband, tbd future romance
TOBIAS WALKER . 25 . heterosexual . muggleborn. Illustrator for the Quibblerapp, Toby here has always had trouble being a people person. Ostracized, as he perceives, from his parents for being magical he only keeps in contact with his younger brothers at this point. Sorted into Gryffindor he was quite a bully and spent most of his time with his buddies who did the same. This has adapted since he graduated but that hasn't exactly enamored him to many more people. He isn't terribly personable and tends to answer in short sentences punctuated by grumbles unless you catch him talking to his animals.
Friends: few and far between
Enemies: a fair amount at least from his time at Hogwarts, combined with his time spent at the Quibbler
Romantic: future plans with AURORA SNOWHOGWARTS - TEENS
app, Em here is a rather unique half-vampire, and that isn't the only interesting thing about her! She's a jolly soul which isn't helped by the fact that her parents own a sweets shop, and she is known for making her own creations (of dubious edibility sometimes). She's quite the ambassador for her parents business, which she hopes to inherit one day. A very friendly face to see as well, no matter what.
Friends: Jack, and anyone who doesn't bully her - for her perpetual bag of treats or her fangs.
Enemies: people who make fun of her or her friends, people who hate creatures or part creatures
Romantic: open, to now or future
app, young daughter of my own GARFIELD HYDE , Finnley is quite the character - a lot of her father with an epic helping of her own brand of independence. Her father is a bit of a mess so when she isn't at Hogwarts she's something of an honorary grown up. She's a devious little thing and isn't afraid to throw some pranks around, or just talk circles around people that she doesn't like.
Friends: classmates and yearmates, friends of her father's
Enemies: Gryffindors, people who are rude to her or her friends, Antonia, anyone who wrongs her dad.
