THE CHARACTER
Any child left to be raised by a man who unironically calls himself Garf Hyde was always destined to be a cool kid.
Finnley was raised jointly by her grandparents and father, mother completely out of the picture with barely so much as a goodbye. The first few years of her life weren't spent majorly with her grandparents as her father figured out his entire life, but he was still very much present. He even bought her her first electric guitar! It lit up! Lit!
By the time her dad was seriously dating again she was spending most of her time with him, and he was understandably cautious about bringing new people into his daughter's life (as he should be 0:) ) Finnley still vaguely remembers Antonia and how much fun she was but she also remembers the hot mess her dad was when she left. That was the part that was easy to remember. The big sad part when her grandparents were over more often and she got shuffled about.
Eventually, things got better but she was FOUR, she could hold a grudge.
After that there weren't many other people who just came into their lives, but like that was ok. They had each other and the rest of their family, and they were a happy little family.
Yeah, their lives were a little strange. Yeah, Finn helped with the cooking a lot of the time when her dad zoned out, tapping out songs. Between the two of them they made things work, and she got a world class musical education in the process.
Except, not everything was meant to last because she had to go off to Hogwarts. It was her turn to learn some magic, for better or worse.
