THE CHARACTER
There are a lot of things Nicky learned growing up, her father raising her as a single parent. How to rely on herself, how to get things done. How not to let life get you down. And she was happy, always with a smile firmly in place and a grin stretching the corners of her lips. Her father was her shining star growing up. But, eventually she had to spread her wings so when the time came she was sorted into Pukwudgie and thus began her time at Ilvermorny.
She wasn't particularly passionate about any of the subjects taught (past the cute animals in Care of Magical Creatures). Nothing against them or anything, she did well enough in class it just wasn't interesting. So, when they had to buckle down and prepare for the real world she settled with a generic but steady career: Lawyer.
Then came Phil, or rather; he had always been there. Just now, things were different. They had something of a whirlwind romance and it seemed like nothing could ever change that. Until it did. Fame, alcohol, partying. She took part too, but nothing held a candle to Phil. Suddenly, they didn't feel so picture perfect. Nicky read the books, tried to hold on but eventually even she reached her breaking point.
They divorced.
Now she tries to find her way back to normalcy and heal. But, the thing about your first love is it's sweet, happy, nothing can go wrong. Until it cracks apart and that beautiful picture just doesn't exist anymore and you're left wondering over the hows and whys (only some of which you know). The hard part is putting yourself together again. Trying to move on.
These days Nicky does a lot of work for lower income witches and wizards and muggleborns struggling to navigate the system, and tries to figure her life out again.
