THE CHARACTER
Between his father the curse breaker and his mother the archaeologist, Darby had always been destined to be inclined to history. The artifacts he saw, the behind the scenes that he witnessed as a child all shaped him into who he would become. So, when Darby was spending most of his time staring at artifacts or with his nose in a book his parents had only ever smiled proudly and reminded him that he still needed to eat occasionally.

Except Darby was also a soft spoken boy who spearheaded the acquisition of a myriad of cats into their family home. All strays that he slowly and patiently wooed his way into their heart and their way into his. It was surprising that his parents put up with it so much, honestly
Anyway, he was sorted into Hufflepuff.
During his time at Hogwarts he was rather soft spoken, a cat perpetually curling around his ankles. He spent most of his time seated in the library reading or studiously working on homework. Not surprisingly, he excelled in care of magical creatures though he never thought to pursue the subject past making friends with the creatures. He was gentle with creatures, and soft spoken but opinionated with his friends.
When he graduated opinion may have been split but he took an apprenticeship with the Ministry library, intrigued and eager to learn more.
Gradually as time passed Darby moved to a full librarian and through continued training eventually became an Archivist for the library. Getting his hands on old first hand accounts and being able to preserve them for future generations was something he never dreamed he would be able to do.
These days his work and his totally reasonable number of cats have his heart.
