THE CHARACTER
Kaspar Garrit Fischer is the youngest of three, jokingly the 'whoops child' but actually a 'spare' because something something those with money need good upstanding heirs to carry on the family business. Or some utter bullshite like that, Kaspar had never been one to care about family business since, well, the beginning. Nevermind that he was practically ostracized as the second born son, final child who was born years too late to be in the same cohort as his elder siblings. He would have been set aside from his siblings for the simple fact that he couldn't sit for lessens, would much rather be doing anything and everything else around the estate.
Yes they had an estate, his muggle father's family - the Fischers, were quite well to do and had a thriving textile business. His half-blood mother had stumbled into fortune in a, well, love match - if you could call anything that his parents shared any of the 'L' words, even like. They coexisted and raised children. And, in his case, did rather poorly.
Kaspar was always kicking up dirt, swinging from branches, generally making a pest of himself since the moment he could walk. Accidental magic? Easy. Helpful in dodging parents and maids and tutors. He was a charming young boy when he could be made or bribed into compliance, but more often than not the sheer frustration was the lasting impression that he left behind on all the staff and his family.
Was he a difficult child or were the expectations simply too much?
Once he was of age Kaspar was sent to attend the Durmstrang Institute. Of course, to a young wizard even the bare prospect of learning magic was something that he was excited for. Oh, how naïve he had been.
Durmstrang had only recently, in the last decades, opened the school to anyone who was less than Pureblood. It showed. So not only did Kaspar face strife with his classmates due to his blood status but also due to the fact that his family's wealth came from the muggle side. It didn't matter that he didn't much like his family, didn't make it hurt less.
The final straw was, of course, Kaspar himself. He made friends fine with those who chose to associate themselves with him but it was hard. His personality made everything hard it seemed. So, he was a little cocky, still a wild child, and didn't like to settle but that didn't make him dumb. Made him a bit of a trickster, really. Durmstrang and its headmaster didn't take too kindly to his attitude. Detentions, discomfort, corporeal punishment was certainly less common but it wasn't completely gone.
Funnily enough, his first liaison with a male classmate wasn't something administration was concerned with. Once word got around about the relationship though his parents were less than impressed. Never mind all his previous faux pas, this certainly was not carrying the family name the way they expected.
It was unsurprising that within months of his graduation, after returning home, Kaspar was disowned.
His beau at the time had family in England who could put him up, and Kaspar got a job in Magical Law Enforcement with the British Ministry of Magic. The relationship lasted far longer than it probably should have as Kaspar scrimped and saved every knut to be able to afford his own place. To furnish his own place.
When he moved out he gave his thanks and cut all ties.
For the first time in his life, he was free.
Kaspar frequented bars, frequented bedrooms not his own, spent some time in his own flat and worked. Worked. Worked.
Attachments were a bit of a stranger, occasionally he heard of his family but not often and friends past coworkers were few and far between but he tries. Relationships? Past a night of passion there hasn't been much to write home about and Kaspar can't say he's missed it. Maybe one day.
For now? He's just made Hit Wizard and there are Dark Wizards on the loose.
